Right. This is a sticky situation that all of us don't hope to be in, isn't it?
So how do we tackle this?
Before I talk about that, here are some questions that you should ponder on:
1. Why do you think your colleague hates you?
2. Have you done anything previously that may have hurt your colleague without you knowing?
3. Have you caused hurt to your colleague 'intentionally'?
Thought about the questions above?
The next thing to do now is, talk to your colleague about how you are feeling. Yes, feeling may just be a feeling, but sometimes our intuitions could be right. If they're not, then our intuitions have to be proven wrong. Nobody likes honest confrontations because of how awkward it makes us feel.
The most important thing is, do you want to go on carrying this awkward feeling whenever you're around your colleague?
If you don't, then like it or not, you have to find about the truth and listen to what she/he has to say. Apologize if you are at fault and have caused hurt.
By talking to your colleague, we'll just have to hope that things will work out for the better. Whatever the outcome is, at least, it's better to get it all out in the open. You'll find that you'll be able to get a good night's sleep without having to worry or coming up with silly conclusions.
All the best!
